Africa, like the other parts of the World is facing climate emergency that requires urgent and adequate actions. It is one of the most inescapable and threatening crises of our times. East Africa region is greatly facing an existential threat and rapid prioritization of attention and action is necessary. If we continue along our current path, scientists say that the consequences will be devastating, having implications on where we live, how we grow food and other services vital to our well-being. A 2°C increase could mean more heat waves, a ten-fold increase in Arctic ice-free summers and a complete wipe-out of the world's coral reefs, home to millions of species. At CJI, we have different strategies towards climate adaptation and mitigation.

We simplify the science concepts of greenhouse effect - global earth warming on communities

We advance the potentiality of carbon credits offset processes and sequestration

We apply climate vulnerability assessment strategies, variability and disaster risks methodologies

We analyze climate reality risk predictions, ecology impacts, greenhouse effect and livelihood

We seek to apply climate ecosystems services- conservation alongside drivers of change

We advise on issues of waste management, plastic menace and pollution in relations to climate change
